My Health Journey
Hi, I’m Kristin Nicole Carrera. On January 1, 2024, I began the carnivore diet to address multiple chronic health issues that had affected me for years. I struggled with depression for over eight years, faced anxiety from childhood, and dealt with chronic inflammation. Additionally, I had Graves’ disease (a thyroid disorder), microscopic colitis, brain fog, and fatigue.
Previous Dietary Approaches
Before discovering the carnivore diet, I explored various dietary plans in search of relief. For instance, I tried the keto diet, which focuses on high-fat and low-carb intake, and the low-carb diet, which further restricted carbohydrates. Additionally, I followed a gut protocol that removed white carbs, grains, gluten, and dairy, while increasing vegetable intake and reducing red meat. Unfortunately, despite these efforts, my symptoms persisted and sometimes even worsened.
Becoming a Wellness Coach
After the birth of my second child, I transitioned into a role as a wellness coach. In this role, I concentrated on empowering women through nutrition and exercise to enhance their confidence and overall well-being. Although this role was rewarding and provided some benefits, I continued to struggle with depression and anxiety. Consequently, I explored various self-care practices, including meditation, grounding techniques, and crystal healing. However, none offered the long-term relief I sought.
Breakthrough with the Carnivore Diet
Fortunately, the carnivore diet has been a transformative experience for me. It has significantly improved my energy levels, reduced anxiety, and cleared the brain fog that previously hindered my daily life. Moreover, my depression and inflammation have seen remarkable improvement. Through my podcast, Kristin Carrera, I share my personal journey with the carnivore diet, offering valuable insights, practical tips, and advice for those interested in this health approach.
